Why is following your heart a terrible idea? Well, think of all the ways we describe our hearts–they can be cold, warm, tender, whole, broken, and a million conditions in between.

So why would you consult something so fickle with life’s major decisions?

Fortunately, the words of Jesus offer some other questions you can ask whenever your heart is leading you somewhere. Check it out here!

ABOUT WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT
This channel is a quick and easy place for you to find What Jesus Says About topics important to you.

No 30-minute sermons. No five-dollar words. No hard sell. I just do my best to let Jesus speak for Himself so you can respond for yourself.

WHY I DO THIS
What Jesus Says About is sponsored by THRED, an organization committed to open and honest conversations about life, faith, and Jesus.

I’m a husband. I’m a father through adoption and foster care. I’m also a pastor of a church. My life mission is to “do whatever it takes so as many as possible can see Jesus”. This channel is one of the ways I live that out.

Auto Generated Captions

I got together with non-Christians and Christians to hear their reaction to what Jesus says about money.

Three questions for you:
1) What do you think Jesus means by “treasure”?
2) Where have you invested the most money?
3) Can you change your heart by changing where you spend your money?

Comment with your answer, can’t wait to see what you have to say!

Fighting your fears is easier than you think.

Maybe you’re afraid of what’s gonna’ happen to the economy. Maybe you’re afraid of spiders. Whatever fear you’re struggling with, once you understand WHY you’re afraid of that thing, the next step to overcoming fear is learning HOW to fight your fear.

In this video you’ll look into an account of Jesus and pull out a simple but powerful principle you can use to fight your fears.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that plans change.

A minor change of plans is no big deal. But when a change of plans is big enough to cancel something like–oh, I don’t know–your anniversary trip to Jamaica, that’s a different story.

Every sickness, every setback, every breakup, is a change of our best laid plans. And how we respond when our plans are highjacked often makes matters worse–we get manipulative, childish, depressed, and take all sorts of self-medicating measures to try to feel the illusion of control again.

But in the biographies of Jesus, we actually see another way you and I can respond when plans change. The way this year has gone, I have a feeling we’ll get a chance to put in practice in the near future.

If you’re not sure what a soul is, or if you even have one, it’s because of the way we overuse the word “soul”:

– We spend your life looking for your “soulmate”.
– Then we break up with them because they have no “soul”.
– We describe grandma’s cooking as “soul food”.
– We declared Aretha Franklin the “Queen of Soul” and James Brown the “Godfather of Soul”.

But according to Jesus, a soul isn’t something you HAVE… a soul is something you ARE.

After making this video about the Jewish idea of a soul (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47JCTRJuG-4) I realized not everyone agrees there is a soul in the first place. So I got together with Christians and non-Christians and asked them to react to what Jesus says about the soul.

But what Jesus says about the soul carries two questions for us to answer–do you think there’s a soul and–more importantly–can Jesus do anything about your soul? Here’s how my friends answered, comment below with how would you answer the question for yourself!

You want to be informed, but the information is overwhelming.

Sure, there’s good news, but only after you scroll past or listen through the onslaught of pandemics, protests and politics.

So you’re left with a few choices when you have news fatigue–you could avoid the news altogether, but that comes at the expense of ignorance. You could cherry-pick where you get your news, but that comes at the risk of misinformation. You could keep logging onto or turning on the news, but that comes at the high price of personal well-being.

Fortunately, there’s another choice when you feel information overload and news fatigue, and it’s a lesson we find when Jesus was fighting news fatigue.

Don’t end quarantine before you do this!

The pandemic may not be done, but millions of people are done with the pandemic. So many states are ending (or have ended) their stay-at-home orders and started phase 1 of reopening after the Coronavirus.

But before you put on the mask and go do everything waiting for you outside, there’s still something waiting for you INSIDE that will make your new life a whole lot better.

Fortunately, it only takes a few minutes to find it, and you already have everything you need to get started.
