Merry Christmas my friends my name is
crisp Avila and you found a countdown
through the twenty five things Jesus
says about Christmas to see how it
changes the way you and I celebrate the
season when we go straight to the source
now number fifteen in our countdown
comes to us when a religious leader who
lives in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus
he secretly believes that Jesus might be
the promised Messiah so in the middle of
the night he secretly goes to Jesus in
the cover of darkness and asks him some
burning questions that he has and him
and Jesus they have a back-and-forth
going you know having a little bit of a
discussion and then Jesus makes the
claims that he is the one sent by God
and then he gives us this little nugget
in this little insight into Christmas
when he says the Son of Man must be
lifted up now when he says the Son of
Man that’s a way of referring to himself
but he’s ultimately here also referring
to the manner of his death where he dies
on the cross and is literally lifted up
but then as followers of Jesus we would
also say he’s referring to his
resurrection when he is raised from the
dead but on the flip side he’s also
referring to the manner of his birth and
the Christmas season how well in order
for him to be lifted up he first has to
be made low and not just lower like low
like so low that he can only go up low
like leaving heaven to become an embryo
and a peasant’s womb low like being born
in a pungent barn low unable to feed
himself or change himself low he was
humble but first he had to be humbled
he had humility it first came a million
and this dramatically changes the way
that you and I celebrate the season
because of what Jesus says is true
nobody’s traveled further nobody nobody
was higher and nobody went lower meaning
that there’s not a single person above
him and no one’s beneath him you and I
included no one is beyond the reach of
Jesus even if you’re at rock-bottom and
you feel like you can’t get any lower
you’re in good company this Christmas
and this also changes the way you treat
your enemies or your coworker who annoys
you or the person who cuts you off in
the mall parking lot forgive them I know
it’s
humiliating but you’re in good company
this Christmas now this is a big thought
but I would be honored if you would take
a look at the other 25 things Jesus says
about Christmas I bet a little playlist
right over here for you to take a look
at also don’t forget to hit like and
subscribe thanks so much and Merry
Christmas

Every day leading up to Christmas I’ll count down the “25 Things Jesus Says About Christmas” to see how it changes the way you and I celebrate the season when we go straight to the source!

You may think of kissing a loved one when you see a mistletoe, but #20 in the countdown will prompt you to think differently about the evergreen of the season.

Merry Christmas Happy Holidays Feliz
Navidad my name is Chris pathala and
we’re talking about the 25 things Jesus
says about Christmas to see how it
changes the way you and I celebrate the
season when we go straight to the source
now in our last video we talked about
Jesus’s famous words of how God so loved
the world in John 3:16 but if we scan
our eyes to the very next verse Jesus
gives a follow-up statement about his
birth that comes in at number 20 on our
countdown when he says for God did not
send his Son into the world to condemn
the world but to save the world through
him now you might hear the word save and
that rubs you the wrong way because
you’re thinking I don’t need to be saved
no matter how many times you spray-paint
Jesus Saves on the overpass I’m still
not gonna be convinced and and that’s
fine but just make sure you’re not miss
hearing Jesus here before you respond
for yourself because Jesus didn’t call
himself a savior to save people from
their badness or to save people from
their sickness or to save people from
their sadness when we read Jesus’s words
here we see that he’s claiming he was
sent by God to save you from a
condemnation and more specifically a
condemnation to death hence the reason
songs like joy to the world say he was
born that man no more may die for Jesus
death is all the evidence you need for
this idea that there’s something called
sin that has its hold on the world you
and I included so God sends his son to
save the world from condemnation to
death how does this change the way you
and I celebrate the season well just
take a look at all of the symbols of
life all around you this time of year
from wreaths to Garland to Christmas
trees to mistletoes you can use all of
these symbols of life and the smell of
pine in the air to consider Jesus’s
words here and he came to save you from
a condemnation to death and bring you to
life and however you answer that claim a
more thoughtful Christmas celebration
awaits you now this is not all the Jesus
says about Christmas that’s why we’ve
made a playlist over here that you can
check out of the other 25 things Jesus
says about Christmas and don’t forget to
hit like and subscribe thanks so much

Merry Christmas my name is crisp Avila
and we’re counting down the 25 things
Jesus says about Christmas to see how it
changes the way you and I celebrate the
season when we go straight to the source
now come Christmas morning there’s going
to be kids all around the globe who are
gonna be squealing at the sight of
presents spilling out from underneath
their Christmas tree and actually if you
think about it it’s kind of strange that
we would give each other gifts to
celebrate someone else’s birthday until
you realize why as we see in number 21
of our countdown and these are probably
the most famous words in the Bible when
Jesus says God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son that
whoever believes in Him will not perish
but have eternal life not to unpack
these words a little bit think about
this idea of a gift it’s something you
receive that you haven’t earned that
someone else gives to you that’s what
makes it a gift so you can give a gift
on any day right like you give a gift on
birthdays or you could give a gift on
like Thanksgiving actually it would make
more sense to give gifts on Thanksgiving
than Christmas wouldn’t it well when you
put so much effort and so much energy
into giving a gift on this day in this
season you’re saying to the person not
only do I think you’re special but
there’s something special about this day
and here’s where we see how these words
change the way you and I celebrate this
season because when we give our gifts
this Christmas we’re leading the
recipient to ask a deeper question why
is this day so special and could God so
loved me that He gave His only begotten
Son it kind of makes you want to give
some more gifts this year doesn’t it
don’t forget to hit like and subscribe
and also we’ve got a playlist over here
of the other daily video so you can stay
up to date on the 25 things Jesus says
about Christmas
