see I do own more than one shirt my name
is Chris favela we’re talking about the
25 things Jesus says about Christmas we
want to change the way you and I
celebrate the season by going straight
to the source I used to be super
frustrated by people who were
over-the-top and their Christmas
celebration the house with Clark
Griswold lights on it and the ugly
sweater but as we see in number 16 of
our countdown over-the-top Christmas
celebrations are a perfect way to
celebrate the season now during our
countdown we’ve heard Jesus described as
a king and as bread and today we’re
gonna hear Jesus described himself as
something else and it’s a term he uses
one time when he’s fighting with some
religious leaders and he describes
himself as a shepherd and I get that
those potential to be insulted by this
metaphor because who wants to be sheeple
but when Jesus uses this metaphor it’s
less about you or I and it’s more about
him and what he does as a shepherd he
calls himself a Good Shepherd who lays
down his life to defend his flock and
then he explains why he would go to such
extreme measures to save those he leads
when he says I have come that they may
have life and have it to the full now
don’t miss here what Jesus says here
he’s not talking about a perfect life or
a painless life or a problem-free life
and as a follower of Jesus I can attest
that yes life is still hard yes there’s
still heartache and tragedy but the hope
and the meaning and purpose that I have
from following Jesus the only word I can
use to describe that is full and really
what I think Jesus is also saying is
that there are no empty hearts your
heart is full of something think about a
Bonita Scrooge his heart was full of
cynicism and hatred and greed and then
his heart was full of joy and hope and
life so how did these words of Jesus
change the way that you and I celebrate
this season well go big this Christmas
put up the extra decorations bake more
cookies wear an ugly sweater and make
sure that it lights up and don’t do it
to compete with your neighbors light
show do it all as an experiment to
contemplate do I do this to feel alive
or because I am full of life now if you
like this video don’t forget to hit like
and subscribe share with your friends
also I made a playlist over here so you
can binge watch all the other 25 things
Jesus says about Christmas thanks so
much we’ll see you soon

Merry Christmas my friends my name is
Chris Pablo and welcome to what Jesus
says about where we’re counting down
with the 25 things Jesus says about
Christmas to see how it changes the way
you and I celebrate the season when we
go straight to the source now food is a
part of the holidays from fruit cakes to
tamales to my mom’s secret recipe sugar
cookies seriously for centuries people
have been celebrating the Savior’s birth
with a bite of something savory or
sugary coincidentally number 17 in our
countdown actually says that food is a
great way to celebrate his birth because
this is one time where Jesus is teaching
a crowd of thousands of people and after
he’s teaching them he miraculously feeds
all of them and while they’re all like
everyone’s amazed and enjoying the food
Jesus tells them okay guys the bread of
God is the bread that comes down from
heaven to give life to the world and
then he says I am the bread of life now
just try to imagine what it would be
like to hear somebody actually make a
claim like that this is this is crazy
talk unless the person can back it up
with something pretty incredible but
Jesus did do something incredible he
just fed these thousands of people and
then claims that he is the bread sent by
God to satisfy the desire in us that
nothing else can satisfy there’s a man
named CS Lewis who wrote the book The
Chronicles of Narnia and he said it
better than I could and he says if we
find ourselves with the desire that
nothing in this world can satisfy the
most probable explanation is that we
were made for another world and this is
where we see how the words of Jesus
changed the way you and I celebrate the
season what do we do eat the food I’m
not kidding enjoy all of the food and
the fair and the festive flavors of the
season and enjoy it while it lasts all I
ask is let you take a moment while you
munch to consider what your soul hungers
for this isn’t all that Jesus says about
Christmas I got a playlist right over
here
go ahead and take a look of the other 25
things and Jesus says about Christmas
while you do that I’m gonna enjoy the
rest of this cookie Merry Christmas

Every day leading up to Christmas I’ll count down the “25 Things Jesus Says About Christmas” to see how it changes the way you and I celebrate the season when we go straight to the source!

You may think of kissing a loved one when you see a mistletoe, but #20 in the countdown will prompt you to think differently about the evergreen of the season.

Merry Christmas Happy Holidays Feliz
Navidad my name is Chris pathala and
we’re talking about the 25 things Jesus
says about Christmas to see how it
changes the way you and I celebrate the
season when we go straight to the source
now in our last video we talked about
Jesus’s famous words of how God so loved
the world in John 3:16 but if we scan
our eyes to the very next verse Jesus
gives a follow-up statement about his
birth that comes in at number 20 on our
countdown when he says for God did not
send his Son into the world to condemn
the world but to save the world through
him now you might hear the word save and
that rubs you the wrong way because
you’re thinking I don’t need to be saved
no matter how many times you spray-paint
Jesus Saves on the overpass I’m still
not gonna be convinced and and that’s
fine but just make sure you’re not miss
hearing Jesus here before you respond
for yourself because Jesus didn’t call
himself a savior to save people from
their badness or to save people from
their sickness or to save people from
their sadness when we read Jesus’s words
here we see that he’s claiming he was
sent by God to save you from a
condemnation and more specifically a
condemnation to death hence the reason
songs like joy to the world say he was
born that man no more may die for Jesus
death is all the evidence you need for
this idea that there’s something called
sin that has its hold on the world you
and I included so God sends his son to
save the world from condemnation to
death how does this change the way you
and I celebrate the season well just
take a look at all of the symbols of
life all around you this time of year
from wreaths to Garland to Christmas
trees to mistletoes you can use all of
these symbols of life and the smell of
pine in the air to consider Jesus’s
words here and he came to save you from
a condemnation to death and bring you to
life and however you answer that claim a
more thoughtful Christmas celebration
awaits you now this is not all the Jesus
says about Christmas that’s why we’ve
made a playlist over here that you can
check out of the other 25 things Jesus
says about Christmas and don’t forget to
hit like and subscribe thanks so much
