The devil has been made into a cartoon.
Or an excuse for bad behavior.
Or a weapon to modify behavior.

But how does it change our view of the prince of darkness if we step away from the picture of a red man with horns and a pitchfork and we look at what Jesus says about Satan?

Listen in as we bring Christians and non-Christians together and have them react to what Jesus says about the devil.

Do you have a similar reaction, or something else to say? Leave a comment and let me know!

hey everybody my name is crisp Avila and
welcome to what Jesus says about where
Jesus speaks for himself so you can
respond for yourself and don’t forget to
hit subscribe so you can stay up to date
on what Jesus says about topics
important to you topics like the devil
and since what Jesus says about the
devil is so polarizing I thought it’d be
great to get together with a group of
Christians and non-christians so they
could react to the words of Jesus and we
had the cameras rolling so you can see
how that conversation went
take a look speaking of the devil one
account jesus said if god were your
father you would love me for I have come
here from God I have not come on my own
God sent me but you you belong to your
father the devil and you want to carry
out your father’s desires when he lies
he speaks his native tongue for his a
liar and the father of lies I just asked
real quick do you believe there is a
devil yes yes but what was they know you
would say no there is no devil nope no
devil yeah yes there is yes kinda
thought yeah there’s a light in a dark
to everybody and I would like to think
that it you know the dark is definitely
influenced by the devil I don’t think
he’s a presence of evil but I think he
is ruler of all that which is evil in
the world he was a fallen angel that he
was created as an angel that’s your
understanding is that he’s a fallen
angel yeah
God created being a created being
created being who rebelled against God
no offense to your beliefs but I’ve
always viewed the devil as an excuse
I kind of agree yeah it’s the devil made
me do it no you made you do that I think
oftentimes Christians can use the devil
as a scapegoat right and say oh well
there’s there’s there’s the evil one
again doing this thing making this
happen to me it’s just a reality but
it’s not meant to be an excuse whatever
you want to call it God devil good evil
what have you
I believe that there’s a middle it’s not
good it’s not evil it’s it’s kind of
what you were describing it’s just it’s
a neutral a neutral
I mean it’s ruined for lack of a better
term examples yeah I think this is all
great we’re all kind of putting our own
Western world view trying to understand
these words but Jesus says if you love
me you God as your father if you don’t
love me your father is the devil and I
don’t think Jesus is really giving much
room for Switzerland it’s either one or
the other you know am I really not I
feel like they always say Devils the god
of this world like earthly things you
know what worldly things and worldly
people people that aren’t followers of
Jesus are basically working for the
devil oh okay what do you guys think of
that people where I’m following
Jesus are working for the devil and
they’re the ones proves it I don’t know
are you offended when you hear that
no no he’s entitled to some pity
Christmas my whole life as long as the
same respect is given to me I want to go
back to Jesus’s words because I think
that’s a little bit easier instead of
like getting up set up mic and pick on
him because thank you yeah and Mike’s
defense he didn’t say this right and
Mike’s defense he didn’t say this when
Jesus says even more directly then than
Mike here when Jesus says if you love me
you’re child of my father in heaven if
you don’t love me your father as the
devil are you offended at him so there
you go let me ask a really simple
question I’d love to see your comment
below how do you react to those words
I’d love for you to leave your comment
below also while you’re doing that I’ve
got some videos over here of what Jesus
says about topics important to you make
sure you take a look and don’t forget to
subscribe thanks and we’ll see you soon

Love does not judge. Except when it does.

It’s easy to say you never judge people but, when you think about it, you make judgment calls all the time. You judge whether to trust the car salesman. You judge whether to go on a date with someone. And when you love someone, you immediately begin making judgments about them.

Why?

Because you want what’s best for them. So if your child is destroying their hair or if your friend starts destroying their life, you’re going to try and help them. Because you love them. Which means you’ve judged their choices and decided to help.

That being said, judgment can also be a bad thing.

So what’s the difference? When should and when shouldn’t you judge someone? That’s where the words of Jesus can help you decide when it’s right and when it’s wrong to judge another person.

hey everybody my name is crisp Avila and
welcome to what Jesus says about where
Jesus speaks for himself so you can
respond for yourself and don’t forget to
hit subscribe so you can stay up to date
on what Jesus says about topics
important to you now the closer we get
to Valentine’s Day the more you’ll see
like candy everywhere and you’ll hear
conversations about love and that’s why
we have conversation or if you couldn’t
by these last year’s so I bought them
this year are good but I don’t know how
to actually start a conversation with
these like it just says peace like know
how you start a conversation with that
delicious though chalky anyway since
we’re all about conversation here at
what Jesus says about I figured okay
what are people talking about people are
talking about love so what does Jesus
say about love do you think this would
be pretty straightforward just accept
people and all that kind of stuff but
actually when you look at what Jesus
says about love it kind of feels
unloving because according to Jesus love
is judgmental so I figured let’s do
another reaction video and have the
cameras rolling while we have Christians
and non-christians react to Jesus
teaching that love is judgmental and as
you’ll see what Jesus says is a much
better conversation starter than these
conversation hearts take a look and out
one of Jesus’s idea of love involved
this this idea of judgment and so here’s
here’s the teaching and do not judge or
you too will be judged so why do you
look at the speck of sawdust in your
brother’s eye and pay no attention to
the plank in your own eye first take the
plank out of your own eye then you will
see clearly to remove the speck from
your brother’s hi do you guys think the
message here is it’s okay to judge or is
the message don’t judge that’s not how I
want to be I don’t want to be judgmental
and when I feel other people judging me
it doesn’t make me feel good so first I
have to start with myself that’s that’s
the message that I get it if you’re
really going to help somebody else and I
think he even says like you know you’re
gonna be judged by the same criteria
you’re judged on right so it’s like
you’re cool with being judged by your
own criteria
then I think yeah then you hold somebody
to that standard I think a lot of this
is people just have no emotional
intelligence or understand enough about
themselves so if you don’t understand
you it’s very easy to have somebody else
on the outside telling you what’s wrong
with you and can a Christian make a
judgment call on somebody who doesn’t
follow Jesus I don’t think that they can
they’re not walking the same path that
the Christian is I don’t think so no
just based on strictly on what Jesus
says here is like no do you not judge or
you too will be judged like that’s the
first thing he says I mean he talks
about your brothers I think he’s
speaking to people of faith so when you
felt judged as a single mother by the
Christian Church you didn’t walk away
from Jesus what kept you following Jesus
in spite of how his followers the
churches and everything in the church is
full of sinners and hypocrites and
that’s you know that’s what people fail
to realize is the church is not God and
so yeah you might be in a church that is
not doing things correctly or the way
that Jesus would want them because
they’re human and you have to forgive
them too but your relationship with
Jesus is so much more than that so it
doesn’t matter what people of the church
tell you because they have things in
their own life too
it depends it matters what your
relationship with Jesus looks like but
I’ve always understood Jesus to be like
you know love thy neighbor which i think
is great like love thy neighbor and but
but wouldn’t this be wouldn’t an aspect
of love going back to there now if you
have a parent being there’s a time where
you have to make a judgment call right
so I think the temptu the difficulty is
for a Christian to know how do I love my
neighbor when they’re not following the
same set of rules I think a lot of times
when we talk about these stories and
kind of the words of Jesus is
interpreted in a very
absolute way in a very black-and-white
way and I think to the point of
relationships that is fundamentally and
if the the hidden variable and all that
so when I speak to a person that’s
addicted that’s that’s living on the
street or that may be living in a
shelter and they said what man you ain’t
never been in my shoe yeah I append in
your shoes and I was in for a very long
time a period in my life while I was
living on the street I had addictions
you know I’m saying when I when I was
years away from my family you know and
I’ve been in those shoes and when people
heard that you know I’m saying now it’s
like okay what do you have the sights on
me now so as you can see it’s a very
multi-layered and deep conversation and
I think I think ultimately what Jesus is
saying is that when you’re in a
relationship with someone you have to
make judgment calls about what’s best
for them because you love them and
that’s where the tension is but that’s
what I think what about you how do you
respond to what Jesus says about love
that love is judgmental how do you
respond to the conversation I’d love to
hear your thoughts to just leave a
comment below and also I’ve got a
playlist over here of some other
reaction videos you guys go ahead and
take a look at that I’m gonna have
another chalky roll Wade Hart here and
we’ll see you soon
whoo that hurt my teeth oh look this one
starts a conversation it says call me Oh
banana I don’t like the banana

I asked non-Christians and Christians to react to what Jesus says about HELL.

Summers in Texas feel like there. AC/DC sang about the highway there. You told your ex to go there.

Hell.

Hades. A lake of fire. And something about brimstone. Over the centuries, the idea of hell has become a parity of itself. But how much of what Jesus says about hell resembles your high school book report on Dante’s Inferno?

In this video, we start that discussion. Some of the reactions gave me some new thoughts to consider, I think the same will be true for you.

hey everybody my name is Chris and
welcome to what Jesus says about where
Jesus speaks for himself so you can
respond for yourself and I am so excited
because in our last video we had some
cameras rolling while non-christians and
Christians reacted to what Jesus says
about heaven and to date it’s our most
viewed video on our channel so thank you
so much for watching but any honest
conversation about what Jesus says about
the afterlife doesn’t just include
heaven it also includes this idea of
Hell and so once again we had the
cameras rolling while non-christians and
Christians
reacted to what Jesus says about help
take a look any honest reading of
Jesus’s teaching on the afterlife also
include this idea of help just in one of
his teachings he says I tell you my
friends do not be afraid of those who
kill the body and after words can do no
more but I’ll show you whom you should
fear fear Him who after your body has
been killed has authority to throw you
into hell do you believe that there is a
hell yes reluctantly struggle with it
don’t like it yes no nope
and I feel like I have to believe that
there’s a hell there’s a heaven but I
don’t want there to be like why do you
say that it’s a struggle emotionally
mentally spiritually all levels to deal
with them the word hell I guess it just
puts like the people who have killed
like the shooting in Germany that just
happened like right now I don’t want
them to go to hell but like I hope they
changed their ways but like they need to
be punished or what I trust him that
he’s a good god and that he will
accomplish justice which is just as
important as being loving he also has a
right to create a world where there are
beautiful things like justice and
justice is a beautiful thing until I lay
it upon myself I like that a lot because
that comes from an assumption of there’s
this like idea of justice and fairness
right we’re good people people who do
good end up in a good place and people
who do bad end up in a bad place I I
really like that assumption because it
makes things easier to kind of you know
to kind of to be able to say that
there’s a heaven there’s a hell these
these are for good people and bad people
right but so for me personally I don’t
think that’s true I don’t think good
people always end up in good places I
don’t think that people right and so for
me on a practical level hell doesn’t do
anything and my head is like isn’t there
another way isn’t there another way to
accomplish your goal instead of this
place I think the idea of Hell is
misguided and I think the idea
I mean so Jesus is misguided if he was
here and we were talking about this I’d
be like man I don’t I don’t agree with
you because I think it’s like for me
it’s like the idea of punishment what is
it for what are we trying to accomplish
and from what I know of Hell my probably
naive understanding is like it is just
eternal and I just don’t get that like
for me punishment is about
rehabilitation and this seems so
black-and-white and lacking of the idea
of what punishment is for that I would
just go man I think we need to like I
would I would push back a little bit
where do you think it comes from that
unless it’s fair it can’t be true aren’t
those two separate questions whether
it’s true or not and whether it’s fair
or not in terms of fairness yeah I don’t
I also don’t agree with that but I’d
also like there were plenty of things
that are chewed that aren’t thicker so
without logic I mean I feel like there
are plenty of things that are true that
aren’t fair
yeah yeah I mean in general we I I think
the same is true but I I don’t think it
applies in the special context of hell
what struck me in this is that he has
the authority it’s the authority piece
like I went right there I didn’t even
get to the hell part it was just who is
he and Who am I and that was a powerful
conversation I gotta say I am the guy
who this is my channel I like talking
about Jesus and sitting at that table I
can I can tell you that I learned and I
gained a new perspective by just
listening to others and I hope that’s
your experience here at this channel as
well thank you so much for being part of
this conversation I’d love to see your
reactions and your comments so make sure
you leave them below and if you missed
the previous video where we had people
reacting to what Jesus says about heaven
you can take a look over here on our
playlist thank you so much and we will
see you soon bye bye

I asked non-Christians and Christians to react to what Jesus says about HEAVEN. The conversation that followed surprised me!

Most people would see heaven as a post-material existence, or a tool to motivate people to good behavior, but what Jesus says about the afterlife seems to suggest something else entirely.
